In the following table, we list experimentally validated CaaX-boxes for FT and GGT1 and their respective
literature references. Our requirement was to have experimental evidence for productive interaction of tetrapeptides
with FT and/or GGT1. Hence, the listed references might neither be the only nor the initial instances of experimental
validation for specific CaaX-boxes. On the right, links are provided to the full length sequences bearing the
respective CaaX-boxes and that share homology to at least one protein whose prenylation as full length protein has
been shown experimentally. The latter sequences comprise the learning sets for the FT and GGT1 predictor,
respectively. Details on generation of these learning sets are given in the accompanying publication. The GGT2
predictor uses Hidden Markov Models to compare queries to (1) the escort protein interaction region (download RabF3F4.hmm) and (2) the overall fold of Rab GTPases (download
RabFull.hmm).
